The EHS Junior Varsity basketball team improved to 5-0 on Thursday with a 44-35 victory over Wren High School. Jarrette McGuire led the charge with 16 points for the Green Wave, while Malaki Aleman added 9 in the effort.
Both teams started out slow on the offensive end, and Easley carried a 16-15 lead into halftime. EHS came out in the 3rd quarter and captured all of the momentum, out-scoring the Hurricanes 17-4 in the period. Wren threatened in the 4th quarter by cutting the Easley advantage to just 5, but the Green Wave managed to find ways to execute down the stretch in order to cap off the nine-point victory.
The EHS JV team will travel to Daniel High School over Christmas break to compete in their Holiday Invitational Tournament before making the return trip to Wren on January 4th.
