Mary Hanna has been named head varsity girls tennis coach at Easley High School. Along with her coaching duties Coach Hanna also teaches Business Education at Easley.
Quote from Coach Hanna:
“I have always had a love and passion for tennis. In my younger years, my parents would drop us off at the tennis courts and I would play for fun with my brothers and sisters. I continued to play for fun while I was in college. It was not until I graduated from college and started my first job where I learned about the tennis league at my place of work. I joined it and from there my tennis network grew and I began learning about the tennis community in Greenville, SC. I began playing on various local tennis leagues. I played singles and doubles for about ten years. I enjoyed meeting different people and making some friends along the way. With my love for tennis combined with my love for students as a teacher, I think coaching the girls tennis team would be fun and inspiring. I am looking forward to meeting the girls and helping them learn and improve their game, be the best they can be, and have fun. It’s very rewarding for me as a teacher and now as a coach to see students learn, improve, and grow whether in the classroom or on the tennis courts. ”
Quote from Director of Athletics Gil Payne:
“I am excited that Mary Hanna is going to be our new Girls Tennis Coach at Easley High School. Her passion for teaching in the classroom will be a natural transition to the tennis courts.”
