Josh Woody Throws No-Hitter As Easley Green Wave Varsity Triumphs Over Walhalla.

With this win Coach Gill Payne notched his 600th career win.  (401 in the college ranks and 199 at the high school level)

Josh Woody was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Monday, as Woody threw a no-hitter to lead Easley Green Wave Varsity past Walhalla 18-0.

Gavin Harvey led Easley Green Wave Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. Harvey went 3-for-4 at the plate. Harvey drove in runs on a stolen base in the second, a triple in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.

Easley Green Wave Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning. Ben Freeman drove in one when Freeman singled.

Easley Green Wave Varsity tallied eight runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Christopher Mann and Matthew Dickson, a groundout by Gavin Harvey, and an error on a ball put in play by Gavin Coats.

Woody earned the victory on the mound for Easley Green Wave Varsity. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking zero.

Talon Lance took the loss for Walhalla. Lance lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and ten runs while striking out one.

Easley Green Wave Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Gavin Harvey, Kasten Harvey, Coats, and Dickson all managed multiple hits for Easley Green Wave Varsity.  Gavin Harvey led Easley Green Wave Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Next game for the Green Wave is at home vs Walhalla on Wednesday, April 14th.
