Easley WAVE Freshman weathered a push by Greenwood in the second inning where Easley WAVE Freshman coughed up four runs, but Easley WAVE Freshman still won 8-4 on Monday. Greenwood’s big inning was driven by walks by #8 and #7 and singles by #12 and #10.
Easley WAVE Freshman fired up the offense in the first inning. Kaleb Hixon drove in two when he singled.
Easley WAVE Freshman took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Easley WAVE Freshman, Braxton Patton singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, an error scored one run for Easley WAVE Freshman, and Braydon Bryson drew a walk, scoring one run.
Aiden Stewart got the start for Easley WAVE Freshman. He went two innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out four.
#7 started the game for Greenwood. He surrendered eight runs on seven hits over four and a third innings, striking out five. #1 threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.
Easley WAVE Freshman had seven hits in the game. Hixon and Payton Anders each managed multiple hits for Easley WAVE Freshman. Anders and Hixon each collected two hits to lead Easley WAVE Freshman. Easley WAVE Freshman didn’t commit a single error in the field. Patton had the most chances in the field with eight.
#12 led Greenwood with two hits in two at bats.
